Out and About Locally

Hakka Moon – A Local Pan-Asian Delight

Just a short stroll to the corner of our road brings the warm glow of Hakka Moon into view, our local pan-Asian restaurant that has quickly become a cherished spot in the neighbourhood. If those inviting lights aren’t on, it’s a sure sign they’re closed for the evening. Since it opened a few years ago, we’ve been frequent visitors, and it’s been a fantastic addition to the local parade of shops.

Recently, after a few weeks away, we were craving some flavourful oriental cuisine, and Hakka Moon was the perfect choice. To start, we couldn’t resist ordering one of our go-to dishes: the Dim Sum Platter. It’s always a highlight, consistently delicious and packed with authentic flavours. Alongside the dim sum, we indulged in the Malaysian Chicken Satay and another favourite, the Salt and Pepper Squid—a delightful mix of textures and spices.

As usual, we shared our mains. Melanie opted for the Kung Po Prawns, a dish brimming with bold flavours, while I chose the tender Beef with Broccoli, all perfectly complemented by a side of Chicken Fried Rice.

The food at Hakka Moon never disappoints. It’s fresh, full of vibrant flavours, and the staff always go above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Whether it’s for a casual dinner or a special occasion, Hakka Moon remains our top choice for authentic pan-Asian dining close to home.
